This IS Your Grandfather’s Beer Festival
The inaugural Yesterbeer Festival (from the same folks who created the 3rth of July block party at Five Points) is Saturday, November 12th, 1:00-6:00PM.
This homegrown East Nashville party takes us back to the basics: classic American brews, good people, local music, and old-school festivities that channel the tough-but-lovable Grandpa vibes of yesteryear.
Here’s 4 reasons we think your PopPop would give this party two thumbs up and an “attaboy.” This IS your grandfather’s beer festival.
The venue means something.
This isn’t some converted warehouse covered in reclaimed oak with wax candles that somehow turn into essential oils for your face. For years American Legion Post 82 has served as a patriotic hub for the community, while also serving up good times with good people, live local music, and inexpensive strong drinks. Sounds like a recipe your grandpa would love as much as his meat & potatoes.
Enjoy some timeless American brews.
We’re all about beer from beyond our borders (helloooo, Guiness), but sometimes it’s OK to get a little patriotic about American made brew. If you can’t get behind High Life, we just don’t get ya, but there’s plenty more where that came from. Featured beers include Old Style, Sterling, High Life, Milwaukee Light, Old Tankard Ale, Rolling Rock, Gerst, Narragansett, Old Milwaukee, PBR, and more.
And to keep things interesting, the party also features your favorite classic pub games…
Don’t forget those timeless American tunes.
When it comes to music, Yesterbeer is bringin’ you some down-home tunes and raw talent. Sure, you may not be hearing any Sammy Davis Jr. on the jukebox, but we have a feeling your grandpa would recognize the same devil-may-care sensibility in this live music lineup, including: Feathers (The Black Crowes cover band), Sexx, American Watermelon, and Early Jones & the Mexican Space Program.
Mostly, it makes a difference.
They didn’t call them “the greatest generation” for nothing. At the end of the day, this awesome party isn’t just a party. The proceeds benefit American Legion’s programs, which help our city’s veterans. If you need a reason to remember you’re proud of your country right about now, what better way than to honor those who served and make some memories with your pals? It’s a free country – exercise your right to do good and break open a cold one.
Grandpa knows best, so go ahead and grab your tickets. We’ll see you out there, kiddos!
